Monday Update

We are doing fine in Mexico. Sunday the team drove up to Mount Popo which is an active volcano. The scenery was incredible and very beautiful, including many waterfalls. We had lunch at a restaurant on the mountain and several members were able to ride on a zip wire. We visited a Catholic Monistary that now serves as a retreat center. It was a very peaceful place and a very moving experience for the team. The day ended with service at the church. Attendance was overwhelming as the members filled the church as they came to meet and welcome the team. The youth praise band sang several songs in English and then repeated them in Spanish. They also blessed the team with a hands-on ceremony, which was also a very moving experience for the entire team.
Monday was the begining of our Mission projects. The dental team successfully attended to 6 children in great need of care. This effort was hindered by primative equipment but the team, with God´s help, made due. The VBS team taught 40+ children at the church. The children really enjoyed the songs and crafts, creating cowboy hats. The team was very happy with the results of the first day. The construction team, which included the VBS and dental teams in the afternoon, made great progress today. We moved a total of 2 dump trucks of volcanic
rock, 1 dump truck of gravel, and about 2000 lbs of concrete to the 2nd story of
of the parsonage, preparing to create the floor for 10 rooms. Note that we used pullies, rope, shovels, and buckets to do it.

The church has been very welcoming and accomodating. We are eating 3 meals a day that are laboriously prepared by the ladies of the church. The food is of course delicious.

The team has grown very close in a very short time and working as a well organized team. We have been provided with blessing after blessing and we are making a great impact here in Ozumba.

Thanks for your prayers and support and stay tuned for more updates.

In HIS service,
David Ewens

I'm glad to hear things are going well so far.

I am praying that you all see Jesus in each other and the people you meet this week. I know you will.

Best wishes and good luck to all. I wish I were there.

I can't wait for the next episode of the blog.

Grace and peace,
Jamie Cutter
